
On January 29, 2026, Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. (PTC) and Jebsen PTC participated in the Joint Maritime Conference 2026 at Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Pasay. Under the theme ”The Philippines in Global Shipping: Future Opportunities and Threats,” the event brought together maritime experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss the strategic position of the country amid a rapidly shifting global landscape.

The conference featured critical dialogues on three key themes: Safe Passage, examining geopolitical implications for maritime security; Tech or Threat, exploring AI, autonomous vessels, and cybersecurity; and The World’s Leading Supplier of Crew, focusing on the future competitiveness of Filipino seafarers.

The PTC Group was represented by Beng Cristobal, Shipping COO; Karen Avelino, SVP for Cruise Operations; C/E Peter Lugue, PTC VP Crewing Operations; Thess Lunzaga, JP VP Crewing; and Janice Capile, JP AVP Crewing, together with Capt.
