PTC proudly celebrated the Day of the Seafarer 2026 on June 25 with a full day of meaningful recognition and Filipino fiesta-inspired festivities honoring its Global Maritime Professionals (GMPs). The celebration officially opened at the FMP Annex in First Maritime Place, where PTC Vice President for Crewing Operations, Mr. Peter Lugue, welcomed seafarers and paid tribute to the men and women whose dedication keeps global trade moving. In his opening message, Mr. Lugue emphasized that behind every shipment delivered and every economy sustained are global maritime professionals who willingly carry the challenges and risks of life at sea.

Echoing this year’s international theme, “Carrying world trade. Carrying the risks,” PTC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting, protecting, and empowering seafarers both onboard and ashore. Following the opening program, the venue came alive with a vibrant Pinoy fiesta celebration featuring interactive game booths, exciting prizes, refreshments, and a special merienda of assorted Filipino kakanin.

The event gave PTC GMPs the opportunity to unwind, reconnect with fellow seafarers, and celebrate with their PTC family in a festive atmosphere. The successful celebration was made possible through the generous support of PTC’s valued partners—MSC Maritime Management Services, Inc., PHILCAMSAT, FMCC, FMSS, Solus+, ACM Homes, SolarFlex, PTC Insures, Seapeak, BDO, and RCBC—whose participation helped make the day even more memorable.

The festivities culminated with the highly anticipated GMPs Got Talent Singing Contest, where PTC Global Maritime Professionals showcased their exceptional talent, confidence, and passion for music. Emerging as this year’s champion was Stephanie Shane Bongalbal of Seaspan, followed by Diane Hazel Palermo of Ugland in second place. Completing the roster of singing finalists were Remso Silva of MSC-MMSI, Denver Pekit-Pekit of RFL, and Angelo Marquez of Seapeak. Together with exciting raffle prizes and the day’s many activities, the competition provided a fitting conclusion to a celebration that honored not only the skills and resilience of PTC’s seafarers but also the camaraderie that unites the maritime community.

As the Day of the Seafarer 2026 celebration came to a close, PTC extended its heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
