In line with this commitment, the PTC Group supports the campaign of BIMCO, which calls for fairer treatment and stronger protection for the men and women who keep global trade moving.

Seafarers play a vital role in ensuring the continuous flow of food, fuel, and essential goods worldwide—yet many continue to face unjust treatment. In recent years, cases of seafarers being blamed or even imprisoned following maritime incidents have persisted, despite a lack of wrongdoing. At the same time, rising geopolitical tensions have made working conditions at sea even more challenging. Currently, around 20,000 seafarers remain stranded in the Persian Gulf, facing heightened risks and significant mental and emotional strain.

Through the “Fair Seas” campaign, BIMCO highlights this urgent issue with a clear and compelling message: “The world relies on seafarers, seafarers face increasing danger, and seafarers deserve fairer seas.” The initiative calls on governments and relevant stakeholders to take action in ensuring justice, accountability, and protection for those at sea.
