The PTC Group commemorated its 47th anniversary on February 19, 2026, with a meaningful Eucharistic
celebration held at the Legaspi Room of First Maritime Place and streamed online via Teams. The mass was officiated by PTC Group Spiritual Advisor Fr. Tito Caluag and attended by employees across the organization, along with PTC founders Ambassador Carlos Salinas and Mrs. Isabelita Salinas, who joined virtually.

In his homily, Fr. Tito reflected on the Lenten season as a time of renewal and preparation to relive the grace of the Paschal Mystery—the passion, death, and resurrection of the Lord. “Lent prepares us to renew in our lives the grace of the Paschal Mystery,” he shared. “If anyone wishes to come after Christ, he must deny himself and take up his cross.” He emphasized that following Christ is both a challenge and a gift freely chosen through loving obedience.
Drawing parallels to PTC’s journey, Fr. Tito noted, “PTC was born during uncertain times, yet it was the founders’ faith and trust in God’s plan that gave them the courage to move forward.” He added that breaking new ground has always been part of PTC’s DNA, stressing that the organization’s growth “was not simply a business decision, but an act of faith”—one that continues to make a difference in the lives of many people.

Following the mass, PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo addressed employees and underscored the deeper purpose behind their work. “The reason why you are here is because there is a greater purpose—if you can find your north star,” he said. He highlighted the vital role of the maritime industry, noting, “If there is no shipping, there is no shopping—the whole world doesn’t move.”
Mr. Borromeo emphasized the impact of PTC’s work on people and communities. “Because we have a platform like PTC, we are able to help make the dreams of our people come true,” he said. “When you find meaning and purpose and realize that what you have done has helped many people, that’s what keeps you coming back.” Looking ahead, he encouraged everyone to continue advancing the Philippines’ leadership in the global maritime sector, adding, “Let’s gallop forward and bring good things to life.”
The celebration continued into the afternoon with a sweet treat for employees, who enjoyed free ice cream across PTC offices at First Maritime Place, Pilgrim, PARQAL, and The MAST. Adding a personal touch to the festivities, team members also shared heartfelt messages on the 47th Anniversary Appreciation Wall at the Penthouse of First Maritime Place, posting notes of gratitude, memorable experiences, and reflections on what they value most about being part of PTC.
As the organization moves forward, the anniversary served as a powerful reminder that PTC’s enduring strength lies in its people, its purpose, and the faith that has guided its journey for nearly five decades.
