Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, in partnership with the PTC Talent Acquisition Group, successfully launched the inaugural TamFLEX Series: FEUture-ready Learning & Employability eXperiences with The PTC Group.
This three-part workshop series is designed to equip FEU students with practical industry insights and real-world exposure—highlighting diverse career opportunities on land, at sea, and in the air. Through these sessions, students gain a deeper understanding of the skills, pathways, and professional environments that will prepare them to confidently step into the workforce and thrive in their chosen fields.
The first event in the series was held on January 27, 2026, at FEU Manila, and spearheaded by Lifelinks International Resources, Inc., one of the business units of The PTC Group. Under the guidance of Maricar E. Boteja, Lifelinks Business Development Officer and supported by Jessie James Estanislao, PTC-TAG Talent Acquisition Assistant, the workshop welcomed graduating Hospitality and Tourism students. It was designed to equip them for the ever-evolving hospitality and tourism industry by highlighting the crucial role of personal values in conjunction with professional skills.
During the talk and workshop, Maricar introduced the concept of “The Garden Within,” highlighting mindset, character, and leadership as essential foundations of hospitality. She discussed industry trends, challenges, and future directions, while reinforcing that hospitality is defined by how individuals treat others with kindness, respect, and service, regardless of role or workplace. She also stressed lessons from hospitality: stay kind, be patient, build trust, respect others, and create safe spaces, noting kindness’s value in any career. She outlined the future’s need for adaptable, compassionate, culturally aware, ethical, and service-driven leaders with strong soft skills. Participants were encouraged to apply hospitality skills beyond hotels, including strategy, market development, and sales.
Through the G.A.R.D.E.N framework of Grit, Accountability, Responsibility, Dedication, Empowerment, and Nurture, students were encouraged to reflect on their personal growth and leadership potential, inspiring them to become compassionate and service-driven professionals in the field. The PTC Group looks forward to continuing its partnership with academic institutions like FEU Manila, empowering the next generation of hospitality leaders to cultivate their own “garden within” and excel in the industry with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
