The Joint Manning Group (JMG), in coordination with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), conducted an orientation on the DMW Licensing Renewal, Accreditation, and Enrollment Processes on August 18, 2026, at the Sheraton Manila Hotel, Newport World Resorts, Pasay City.

The activity brought together licensed manning agencies (LMAs) to strengthen their understanding of the DMW’s regulatory requirements, particularly with the implementation of the 2026 DMW Seabased Rules and Regulations and the Standard Employment Contract (SEC) for Seafarers and Fishers.

The orientation provided participants with guidance on the current licensing renewal, accreditation, and enrollment procedures, including the documentary and compliance requirements needed to prepare complete and accurate applications. It also served as a venue to discuss common challenges encountered by LMAs and clarify the appropriate steps for addressing them.

As a member of JMG, the Filipino Association for Mariners’ Employment (FAME) supported the initiative as part of its continuing commitment to assist manning agencies in meeting regulatory requirements and promoting more efficient and consistent industry processes.

Representing PTC at the activity was Capt. Ronald SJ. Enrile, who serves as a member of the FAME Board of Directors. His participation reflects PTC’s continued engagement in industry initiatives that contribute to the professionalization of maritime recruitment and the effective implementation of regulatory standards.

Through initiatives such as this, JMG and FAME continue to work with the DMW in fostering greater compliance, transparency, and consistency within the Philippine maritime manning industry.
