Strengthening onboard excellence: PTC TAG-PEP and PTC Iloilo Team Visit MV Capt. John B. Lacson

Eight crew members stand in a line on a ship’s deck, posing in front of the captain’s bridge with a lit railing sign CAPT. JOHN B. LACSON.

In line with a continuous commitment to advancing maritime education, field exposure, and industry-academic alignment, PTC TAG-PEP, together with Ms. Isabel Sotelo, Manager of PTC Iloilo, had the distinct privilege of conducting an official visit onboard the training vessel MV Capt. John B. Lacson.

Four crew members pose on the ship's green deck with the vessel's bridge behind them on a sunny day.

Guided by Capt. Ron T. Tayongtong, the team was given a comprehensive tour inspecting the vessel’s facilities, key operational areas, and onboard training setups designed to prepare maritime cadets for real-world seafaring demands.

Beyond a routine inspection, the visit served as an exceptional opportunity to engage directly with the ship’s crew and officers, observe live training methodologies, and gain firsthand insight into how academic instruction seamlessly translates into practical seamanship.
