PTC is now an official partner of the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) of San Pedro City, Laguna, through the RISE Program for Safe Schools and Sea Mariners.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was successfully signed on May 05, 2026 (Tuesday), at San Pedro Central Elementary School’s Gabaldon Hall, attended by PTC Talent Acquisition Group – Pipeline Engagement Programs (TAG-PEP) officials, headed by Program Manager Hector Brizuela, with Lead Program Officer Josh McCarver, Program Associate Chloe Balmaceda, and Project Associate Crystal Lopez. DepEd SDO of San Pedro City was represented by its Officer In Charge-Schools Division Superintendent (OIC-SDS) Phillip Gallendez, together with Officer In Charge-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (OIC-ASDS) Joe-Bren Consuelo, Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Frederick Byrd, Jr., and Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Erma Valenzuela.

DepEd SDO of San Pedro City OIC-SDS Phillip Gallendez thanked The PTC Group for its commitment to sustainable collaboration on disaster risk reduction and youth development, emphasizing the vital role of private sector partners in strengthening education and supporting learners and educators.

PTC TAG-PEP Program Manager Hector Brizuela highlighted the RISE Program for Safe Schools, underscoring the importance of building a culture of safety in schools, homes, and communities through preparedness and proactive response, inspired by maritime safety practices. He stressed that safety must remain a priority for both learners and educators in all environments.

He also emphasized the Sea Mariners program, which introduces Senior High School students to maritime careers through school-based clubs that build industry-related skills and provide exposure to real maritime professionals, helping them explore sustainable career opportunities in the maritime sector.

The RISE Program for Safe Schools will engage School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers (SDRRMOs) to strengthen DRR initiatives across schools, while Sea Mariners will be implemented in Senior High Schools through “ships” clubs that develop maritime awareness and skills.

Following the MOA signing, both parties will begin rolling out the programs across 28 schools in San Pedro City, marking a key step in advancing PTC’s vision of moving the world through education, safety, and opportunity.
