The PTC Group joined key maritime stakeholders at the Maritime Industry Authority’s (MARINA) Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC) meeting hosted by the European Union Delegation to the Philippines. Representing PTC were CEO Gerardo A. Borromeo, Executive Director for Corporate Public Policy, Risks, and Sustainability MGEN Restituto Padilla, and Special Projects Manager Hadassah Gabrielle Balor.
The meeting brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, and the maritime sector to discuss priorities critical to the continued growth and competitiveness of the Philippine maritime industry. Discussions focused on governance reform, workforce development, digital transformation, maritime safety, and sustainability—key areas that support the welfare and global competitiveness of Filipino seafarers.
The exchange also highlighted the European Union’s continued collaboration with MARINA through the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE) Seafarers Project. Through its Global Gateway initiative, the EU remains committed to supporting institutional strengthening, maritime education, and international partnerships that contribute to a safer, greener, and more resilient maritime sector.
