The PTC Group celebrated National Maritime Week 2026 from September 21 to 27 with a week of activities honoring its Global Maritime Professionals (GMPs), their families, and the strength of the maritime community.
Held at First Maritime Place (FMP) under the theme “Marinong Pilipino: Matatag sa Alon, Matibay sa Hamon!”, the celebration opened on September 21 with free snacks for visiting PTC GMPs, along with complimentary cholesterol and blood sugar testing provided by Health Metrics, Inc. Program partners BDO, RCBC, HMI, FMCC, ACDI, and Kia also set up booths, with BDO’s booth remaining throughout the week.
The week continued with activities that brought together GMPs, employees, cadets, and industry partners. On September 22, the PTC Group held its Cargo and Cruise Open House Recruitment, followed by the qualifying rounds of the PTC Group e-Sport Mini Tournament featuring Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on September 23.
Beyond the festivities, the week also highlighted the importance of preparing and supporting maritime families. The Family and Crew Relations (FCR) team, in cooperation with the PTC RISE Program, conducted “Ready at Sea, Safe at Home,” a special session for Seapeak crew and their families on building resilient families and preparing loved ones for unexpected situations.
FMP also joined the global maritime community in observing World Maritime Day on September 24, lighting up in blue for the occasion.
The celebration culminated on September 25 with the championship round of the PTC Group e-Sport Mini Tournament, where participating teams brought their teamwork and camaraderie to the final matches. In the evening, the PTC Group Shipping Cluster HR Team will host the Maritime Chill Night, giving PTC Group employees and seafarers an opportunity to unwind with karaoke, drinks, and good company.
Through a week that combined celebration, wellness, learning, family preparedness, and camaraderie, the PTC Group paid tribute to the GMPs whose dedication continues to keep the maritime community moving forward.
