On May 22, 2026, the PTC Group Talent Acquisition Group (TAG) successfully conducted a PTC Masterclass at Baliwag Maritime Academy (BMA), bringing together more than 140 CCI completers preparing to become Global Maritime Professionals. More than a learning session, it served as a bridge between academic training and real-world maritime practice, equipping students with industry insights, practical knowledge, and professional guidance for their seafaring careers.

The initiative reflects PTC’s continued commitment to developing competent, safety-conscious, and values-driven Filipino seafarers who are ready to meet the evolving demands of the global maritime industry. Through programs like this, PTC strengthens its mission of guiding future maritime professionals toward resilience, discipline, and global competitiveness.

The session was opened by Benjie M. Bautista, PTC TAG Manager, who presented the objectives of the masterclass and shared updates on the maritime landscape on behalf of Capt. Ronald Enrile, encouraging students to remain focused, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.

This was followed by Hector Manuel Brizuela, PTC TAG Pipeline Engagement Program Manager, who discussed “Culture of Safety through Effective Communication,” emphasizing that clear and respectful communication is essential to safety and operational excellence onboard vessels.

A highlight of the program was the interactive session of C/E Eric Edgardo Bautista, Engine Program Head of PHILCAMSAT, who provided practical insights on cadet preparation and interview success, stressing honesty, discipline, and perseverance as key to a successful maritime career.

In closing, Capt. Maximo Pestano, School President of Baliwag Maritime Academy, expressed appreciation for the partnership with PTC, noting the value of the masterclass in inspiring students and strengthening industry-academe collaboration.
